It is the mission of the Detroit Entrepreneurship Institute, Inc. to provide entrepreneurship and economic literacy training and technical assistance to individuals in Southeast Michigan with barriers to accessing resources in order to enhance their economic condition and that of their community

 

Enterprise Development Initiative (EDI)

The Enterprise Development Initiative (EDI) provides individuals with the necessary tools to start, operate or expand a business.

Benefits of attending the EDI Program include:

  • Business Plan Development
  • One on one business consultation
  • Abundance of business resources
  • State of the art Hewlett Packard (HP) equipment
  • Assistance with accounting and financial data preparation

The EDI program is open to the general public and applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Fees for the EDI Program are based on Housing Urban Development (HUD) income guidelines. Most individuals qualify for free training, however, the most one would be required to pay is $350.00.

Individuals interested in attending the EDI program must attend an orientation which explains the application process and program requirements. Applications are distributed at the Orientation session. Applicants must completed the EDI application, provide proof of income and valid state identification. Once these steps are complete the applicant will be assigned to an upcomming class.
