The Enterprise Development Initiative (EDI) teaches individuals the necessary elements to start, operate or expand a business.

Some of the benefits in attending EDI are as follows:

  • Business Plan Development
  • One on one business consultation
  • Abundance of business resources
  • State of the art Hewlett Packard (HP) equipment
  • Assistance of accounting financial data preparation

The EDI program is open to the general public and applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

The EDI program is in accordance with Housing Urban Development (HUD) program. IF an individual's household income is less that the listed HUD guidelines then the fee for the EDI training is three hundreds ($300.00).

Individuals interested in attending the EDI program must attend an orientation which explains the application process and overall program. The individual obtains an application. Complete application, complete application thoroughly, provide proof of income and valid state identification, and submit the information in the selected time frame. The only way to receive an application is to attend an EDI orientation session. To register for an orientation you must call DEI to be put on the “Orientation Roster”.
